MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--TE Connectivity today announced that its distributed antenna system (DAS) products are helping major stadium owners and service providers across the country deliver high-quality mobile services for capacity crowds. TE’s InterReach Spectrum, InterReach Fusion, and FlexWave Prism DAS products have been deployed to upgrade mobile coverage at university and NFL football stadiums around the United States. TE’s DAS will help ensure that football fans can use voice and data services, even during capacity-crowd events. Fans can call, text, send photos, post to social media sites and access the Internet through 3G and 4G networks to improve their experience and share it with their friends and families.
Stadiums newly outfitted with TE DAS gear include:
- MetLife Stadium, home of the New York Jets and the New York Giants, and site of the 2014 Super Bowl
- Fedex Field, home of the Washington Redskins
- Sports Authority Field, home of the Denver Broncos
- University of Phoenix Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals
- The Rose Bowl, home of the 2014 BCS National Championship game
- Boise State University Stadium
- Oklahoma State University Stadium
- University of Michigan
- University of Mississippi
- University of Oklahoma Stadium
TE DAS systems are deployed in more than 50 stadiums around the world and deliver precision, high-capacity wireless services for major mobile operators. Typically, large crowds of fans generate extremely high amounts of traffic during sports and entertainment events as they make calls, send texts and photos to friends, post to social media sites, or browse the Internet. TE’s DAS solutions deliver the required capacity with minimal deployment time and expenses, bringing these stadiums up to speed in time for the beginning of football season. The mobile network capacity provided through the TE DAS systems helps eliminate dropped calls, slow browsing, and other issues that visitors to large events typically experience.
“Using smart phones is now an integral part of the fan experience at football games, and fans expect high-quality mobile services,” said Peter Wraight, vice president and general manager of Wireless at TE Connectivity. “Our DAS products help ensure that stadiums and service providers can deliver the complete, robust coverage and capacity their fans demand.”
