ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Abu Dhabi Police Band of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters attracted an audience of thousands in Moscow during its performance that will continue until September 8th. The band’s participation coincides with the Golden Jubilee Celebrations to mark its establishment in July 1963.
The band presented a number of UAE traditional pieces during the International Military Music Festival “Spasskaya Tower” held in the Russian capital city, Moscow. The various musical performances included national musical pieces and highlighted the UAE’s heritage.
The ceremony was attended by senior officials from the Russian federal government including the Inspector General of Police, Lt. Gen. Sergei Klebnikov.
The Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters delegation was headed by Lieutenant Colonel Saeed Al Khajah, Deputy Director of Tactical Affairs and Security Media Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H. Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Interior. The festival witnessed the participation of 13 states.
Lt. Colonel Al Khajah said that the participation complements the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters’ commitment to be present locally and globally, and introduce the UAE’s heritage to others.
The band’s celebrations demonstrate the Abu Dhabi Police’s commitment during its more than 50-year journey. He explained that its participation is to promote the establishment in international forums, and introduce the band members to other international bands.
“Celebrating achievements in the Abu Dhabi Police’s history familiarize the public with the police band’s role and its contributions during the past five decades,” he stated.
Major Ibrahim Al Hosani, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Police Music Band Section, explained, “Musical pieces and UAE traditional themes were presented in outstanding performances during the evening.”
In addition to its participation in police trainings, the band connects the police with the public in celebrations and national events.
