DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--TIAA-CREF, a leading financial services provider, Metropolitan State University of Denver and the Denver Public Schools Foundation today announced a collaboration to provide educational support to more than 450 students, along with parents and faculty members, at Bruce Randolph, a public school for grades 6-12.
Working together, the organizations identified a number of specific needs of the Bruce Randolph community and have developed several programs to assist students, parents and faculty throughout the school year, including:
- Back-to-School Supplies and Campus Beautification – Today volunteers from TIAA-CREF, MSU Denver and Bruce Randolph will work on projects to improve the campus. In addition, TIAA-CREF will donate $5,000 and new school supplies collected through the company’s Backpacks and Knapsacks School Supply Drive.
- Tutoring Programs – Starting in October 2013 and running throughout the school year, TIAA-CREF and MSU Denver volunteers will tutor high school students at Bruce Randolph.
- Job Shadow Event – In February 2014, TIAA-CREF will host a job shadow event at TIAA-CREF’s office in Denver for approximately 50 students to give them an overview of career choices in the financial services industry.
- Financial Literacy Workshops – In April 2014, to coincide with National Financial Literacy Month, TIAA-CREF employees and MSU Denver faculty will hold workshops on the basics of financial literacy for high school students, parents and Bruce Randolph faculty.
