Summit of the Southeast Set to Draw National Health IT Leaders to Music City Center

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--()--The Summit of the Southeast, a regional healthcare IT conference hosted by the Tennessee, Kentucky and Mississippi chapters of the Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS), is coming once again to Nashville in September—this time to the new Music City Center downtown.

The two-day conference will bring nearly 1,000 healthcare IT professionals, including providers, payors, vendors and others, to the Nashville area and will boast expert speakers and panelists from around the country.

“The Summit is the largest regional healthcare IT event in the country,” said HIMSS Tennessee Chapter President Brian Moyer. “It’s a great opportunity to bring people together from all areas of the healthcare IT industry to learn from one another, talk about the state of healthcare, and build relationships.”

This is the Summit’s sixth consecutive year in Nashville and will take place Sept. 17-18, 2013.

Among this year’s featured presenters are Connie Mariano, M.D., White House Physician to President Bill Clinton and Founder of the Center for Executive Medicine; Jeff Goldsmith, President of Healthcare Futures; Marsha Blackburn, U.S. Congresswoman for the 7th District of Tennessee; Mark Blatt, M.D., MPH, M.Sc., Director of Health and Healthcare Industries Solutions for Intel; Blackford Middleton, M.D., CIO and Professor of Biomedical Informatics at Vanderbilt University, and more.
