DULLES, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, ARMATURE announced the deployment of the new National Outcomes Measurement System (NOMS) data collection tool built on Foundation Server for the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). ASHA’s NOMS is an approved registry of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS), which is a voluntary data collection system for ASHA certified member speech-language pathologists (SLPs) to track communications and swallowing disorders in adult populations.
“The new NOMS registry developed by ARMATURE is critical in assisting SLPs adhere to the new federal regulations that took effect earlier this year,” said Durga Gandi, Director of Product Development at ARMATURE. “The new system is intuitive and robust enough to handle heavy traffic as all SLPs who treat Medicare Part B beneficiaries must report outcomes on claims forms in order to receive payment.”
The purpose of NOMS is to collect aggregated national outcomes data in order to assist ASHA members as well as the Association in demonstrating the effectiveness of speech-language pathology services. The data collected in NOMS helps to advocate for speech and language services, obtain information needed for accrediting bodies, benchmark outcomes with aggregated national results, identify changing trends, and improve the quality of services.
ASHA is the national professional, scientific, and credentialing association for more than 166,000 members and affiliates who are audiologists, speech-language pathologists, speech, language, and hearing scientists, audiology and speech-language pathology support personnel, and students. Speech-language pathologists identify, assess, and treat speech and language problems, including swallowing disorders.
