Trinity Services Group awarded contracts with three detention centers
Headquartered in Oldsmar, Fla., Trinity was recently selected to support three additional secure facilities in North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida, including Brunswick County Jail, Charleston County Detention Center and Flagler County Jail, respectively. Trinity will oversee food and/or commissary services under a new contract with each facility.
Under a five-year contract with Brunswick County Jail in Bolivia, N.C., Trinity will manage jail tray service for more than 300 inmates. Trinity will also manage the county’s full-service Government Center cafeteria and Meals on Wheels bulk and tray service. The cafeteria supports 1,000 county employees daily at two dining rooms and three off-campus facilities. The company’s operations will also help furnish food for group meetings, events and gatherings across the campus. Additionally, Trinity will oversee an inmate labor initiative to conserve labor costs and provide a more manageable food service program for the jail.
Charleston County Detention Center in Charleston, S.C., recently agreed to a five-year contract with Trinity Services Group to provide meal service to the jail’s 1,300 inmates and 60 employees. The food service contract was awarded to a competing firm in 2012, but due to unsatisfactory performance, county management revisited the program and transferred it to Trinity’s leadership. Inmates are now offered a hot breakfast in addition to other higher-quality menu items.
Trinity has provided food service to more than 125 inmates at Flagler County Jail in Bunnell, Fla., for the past three years. Under the new contact, Trinity will exclusively operate the facility’s commissary services in addition to continuing the current food service operations.
