A New Era Begins for Hero Network

Wish Upon A Hero rebrands as Hero Network – the world's largest social helping network

VOORHEES, N.J.--()--The Company that invented crowd-funding for social helping, Wish Upon A Hero, has announced that the organization has raised a second round of financing and is rebranding itself under the name Hero Network. The new investment and renaming of the Company coincides with the re-design of the website that has helped raise money for hundreds of thousands of people in need since the organization’s inception in 2007. The new website for the online community can be accessed at www.heronetwork.com.

Since its establishment, Wish Upon A Hero has been widely recognized as a pioneer and industry visionary and by establishing the first peer-to-peer philanthropy network - connecting people in need (wishers) with those who can help (heroes). The Hero Network’s half-a-million community members have granted hundreds of thousands of wishes through their generosity, tireless efforts and commitment to enhancing the lives of others. Granted wishes range from small to life changing and include: raising $60,000 for a college student who lost her parents in Hurricane Sandy, sending a WWII veteran back to Pearl Harbor for his 90th birthday, arranging the donation of a prosthetic running foot for a 10-year-old amputee, collecting cards for a mother dying of cancer, and helping a woman with cerebral palsy fulfill her dream of climbing the Rocky steps in Philadelphia.

"Changing our name to the Hero Network, along with the investment of capital, not only signifies a new direction for the company but it marks the beginning for the Hero Network in establishing itself as a single, national platform where not only individuals but communities and organizations can get and give help," said Dave Girgenti, Founder, Hero Network.

The Hero Network’s new website and brand better positions the organization for future growth and recruitment of heroes, who are just as likely to be your child’s school bus driver as they would be a Grammy nominated singer.

"The Hero Network is unique among other crowd-funding platforms such as Indiegogo and Kickstarter in that it develops and fosters a social network that rallies around a specific person in need. Granting wishes is at the core of what we do. Making that process easier for our heroes and bringing attention to the great work they have done can only enhance the experience for everyone involved with Hero Network," added Girgenti.
