LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Kroll, the global leader in risk mitigation and response solutions, announced today that Jonathan Fairtlough, a Los Angeles County prosecutor and veteran of the office's High Tech Crime Division, has joined the firm as a Managing Director.
Based in Kroll’s Los Angeles office, Fairtlough will be a senior member of Kroll’s Cyber Investigations Practice. He brings to Kroll a deep knowledge of investigating and prosecuting cybercrime. In this role, Fairtlough will lead assignments providing comprehensive investigative services for digital forensics, data breach response, and complex cyber-crimes. He will also provide clients with proactive data security services such as data risk assessments and data breach prevention.

Most recently, Fairtlough was the Deputy in Charge of the Eastlake [Central] Juvenile Office. Prior to this, he served as the Assistant Head Deputy and co-founder of the High Technology Division of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. During his career Fairtlough has held a number of positions within the District Attorney’s office and has been involved on many high profile cases, including prosecuting one of the largest identity theft cases filed in Los Angeles County for which he received the IAFCI award for Prosecutor of the Year in 2006.
Fairtlough is an instructor for the National Computer Forensic Institute and an adjunct professor at Cypress College on the subject of cyber law and forensics. He holds a J.D. from Loyola Law School and a bachelor’s degree from Loyola Marymount University in Political Science. Fairtlough is admitted to the Bar in the State of California.
