BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hemenway & Barnes, one of Boston’s most storied legal and fiduciary firms, announced that they have joined the Boston Bar Association (BBA) in its efforts to assist those seeking legal advice following the Boston Marathon bombings.
Days after the bombings, the BBA established a resource network for victims consisting of 200 lawyer volunteers, 26 law firms, and three law schools. Joseph L. Bierwirth Jr., Partner at Hemenway & Barnes, noted that victims can receive help in applying to the One Fund Boston, as well as legal advice on insurance, employment, real estate, or related issues.
“Boston and the country as a whole is still in the early stages of recovering from the tragic events of April 2013,” said Mr. Bierwirth. “We applaud the Boston Bar Association for establishing this project, and are enthusiastically lending our expertise on a pro bono basis to those who need guidance during a troubling and complex time.”
