Zimory’s unique settlement technology enables the new Deutsche Boerse Cloud Exchange

First global and neutral Cloud Marketplace will bring standardization and transparency

BERLIN--()--Zimory, the Berlin-based experts on cloud management software has been chosen as a strategic partner by Deutsche Boerse Group to deliver the cloud technology for its newest venture the ‘Deutsche Boerse Cloud Exchange AG.’ Deutsche Boerse Cloud Exchange is creating the world’s first vendor neutral marketplace for cloud computing capacities which will enable IT resources to be traded like securities and energy, electronically, and within seconds. The new company aims to launch initially a cloud computing spot market in the first quarter 2014.

Zimory’s IaaS cloud management software will enable the settlement process of the Deutsche Boerse Cloud Exchange, creating the physical connection between buyers and sellers. The software is characterized by its open APIs, scalability, multi-tenancy and decoupled architecture; delivering buyers and sellers the flexibility and business agility required to trade compute and store capacity securely. This neutral software enables consumers and sellers to buy and sell capacity quickly and easily, without being locked into the technology or offering of only one provider.

Zimory’s implementation for Deutsche Boerse Cloud Exchange will be characterized by its openness to integrate other cloud management stacks and standards. Standards will be applied to cloud computing infrastructure, making services easy to compare and enabling users to distribute their applications between multiple providers.

Deutsche Boerse Group has been managing transparent, reliable and secure marketplaces for financial assets for many decades. This combination of marketplace expertise and technological know-how form the backbone of Deutsche Börse Cloud Exchange AG.

"Deutsche Boerse Cloud Exchange will fundamentally change how cloud computing resources are bought and sold," said Ruediger Baumann, CEO of Zimory. "The time when contract negotiations took months will be over for most businesses. Standardizing IaaS offerings will revolutionize the cloud computing market in a similar way to how the GSM standard changed cellular telephony. Cloud services will be provided faster and in more varied ways. New cloud computing industries, application areas and brokerage services will develop. The necessary prerequisites for this new age of cloud computing are industry standards for IaaS and a neutral, secure marketplace, which we are creating together with Deutsche Boerse group."

Frank Strecker, SVP Cloud at T-Systems said: “The Deutsche Telekom Group offers a wide range of cloud services. This exciting development in the cloud marketplace will enable us to supply existing and new customer groups such as SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) providers with globally standardized IaaS products. This way we are able to offer tailor-made solutions for our customers.”
