Dirty Girl Mud Run Partners with Breast and Ovarian Cancer Prevention Organization Bright Pink

Dirty Girl to Contribute $250,000 to Bright Pink in 2013 and Encourage 350,000 Women Nationwide to Take Preventative Measures Against Breast and Ovarian Cancers

DENVER--()--Dirty Girl Mud Run announced today an official partnership with Bright Pink, the only national non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancers in young women. With the joint goal of empowering women to lead healthy lifestyles, Dirty Girl and Bright Pink will urge the hundreds of thousands of women who participate annually in Dirty Girl events to be proactive with their breast and ovarian health.

Dirty Girl is a for-profit company that believes strongly in the cause of finding a cure for breast cancer, in educating women about health, and in supporting cancer victims and survivors. Dirty Girl will be contributing $250,000 to Bright Pink in 2013 to further this mission. Dirty Girl Mud Run also provides free registrations to cancer survivors who want to muck it up in the mud at one of the 60 events across the county.

“We’re expecting 350,000 women of all athletic abilities to participate in Dirty Girl Mud Run events in 2013,” said Kent Ebersole, CEO, Dirty Girl. “Dirty Girl is honored to have Bright Pink as an official charity partner and we look forward to sharing in their mission by encouraging this critical mass of women to understand the signs, symptoms, and risk factors of breast and ovarian cancer.”

“Through Bright Pink’s national partnership with Dirty Girl Mud Runs, we have the opportunity to empower the hundreds of thousands of women participating in these events to brighten up and be proactive with their breast and ovarian health,” said Lindsay Avner, Bright Pink Founder and CEO. “We are grateful for the opportunity to spread our message and work with Dirty Girl to create a better, brighter future.”

The Bright Pink and Dirty Girl partnership will kick off this weekend at Dirty Girl's 2-day mud run in Chicago on Saturday, June 29 and Sunday, June 30. Dirty Girl participants can stop by the Bright Pink booth, where they will have access to educational materials and can be advised on how to detect cancers at an early stage. The Dirty Girl Chicago event will be held at the Lake County Fairgrounds at 1060 East Peterson Road in Grayslake, IL (rain or shine), and the first wave of runners starts at 8am.

An untimed obstacle course that welcomes women of all ages and athletic abilities, Dirty Girl Mud Run challenges women to break from their routine for a day, get out of their comfort zones, get dirty, and accomplish something brand new – all while having a blast and supporting a great cause.
