TAUNTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Have you ever wondered if you could adopt an older child or sibling group from foster care? This is the question that Jordan’s Furniture is asking this week, in the hope of finding permanent homes for some very special children.
This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, interested people can stop by any Jordan’s Furniture location to learn about adoption from foster care. They can find out about older children and sibling groups waiting to be adopted. They can talk one-on-one with social workers. Or they can just stop by to pick up some information. No pressure.
In partnership with the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) and the Department of Children and Families (DCF), the Jordan’s Adoption Information Weekend is another initiative supporting the adoption and foster care communities that the furniture retailer has spear-headed during the 14-year relationship.
“We run annual events where guests can find out about the adoption process,” says Jordan’s President and CEO Eliot Tatelman. “However, not everyone is available on that particular date. Adoption from foster care is such an important issue so we wanted to make the information more accessible. During this entire weekend in all of our five stores, you can find out everything that you ever wanted to know about foster care adoption. We hope that it will encourage a lot of families to open up their homes and their hearts to theses wonderful kids.”
Social workers will be available at all five Jordan’s Furniture locations (Reading, Natick, Avon, Nashua, and Warwick) from 4pm to 8pm on Friday and noon to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday. For more information, log onto www.jordans.com or www.mareinc.org.
