SMITHFIELD, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--FGX International, a leading eyewear designer and marketer and wholly-owned subsidiary of Essilor International, announced today that it has launched the Foster Grant Crystal Vision Reading Glasses collection. Foster Grant, the market leader in over-the-counter reading glasses, is innovating the category with an advanced lens design that helps reduce eye strain and provides the ultimate viewing clarity by reducing scratching, smudging and glare.
Commonly found in adults over 40, presbyopia is a natural effect of aging, and leads to difficulty in reading small print, such as text found in a book, e-reader, smartphone or computer screen. Foster Grant Crystal Vision Reading Glasses magnify images, allowing the eyes to focus on nearby objects more easily, and features lenses to help reduce eye strain and provide greater visual comfort.
Foster Grant Crystal Vision lenses feature a patent pending technology, including an anti-glare coating that reduces glare from computer screens and fluorescent lighting, which may exacerbate eye strain. This coating also reduces glare on the outside of the lens, improving the way you look to other people. A 2nd anti-smudge coating minimizes the need to clean the lenses, which is often required during extended use. A durable lens material minimizes scratching, enabling Foster Grant Crystal Vision Reading Glasses to last longer than standard reading glasses.
“Crystal Vision is a whole new level of reading glasses,“ said Dr. Justin Bazan, O.D., “FGXI has developed a superior lens for Foster Grant that helps reduce eye strain.”
The Foster Grant Crystal Vision collection is available in stylish designs and colors for men and women, and is available in six magnification strengths. The limited release of the collection can be found at select Walgreens and CVS stores in Austin, TX and Orlando, FL.
FGXI will support the Foster Grant product launch with a TV commercial featuring spokesperson and Hollywood icon Brooke Shields. The commercials will run on cable networks in the Austin and Orlando markets.
