BAE Systems’ Experts Continue Missile Defense Research for U.S. Army

FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla.--()--The U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command has awarded BAE Systems an $85 million, two-year contract extension to continue its support of the agency’s Future Warfare Center. The company will provide research, engineering, and technical services for developing and understanding missile defense methods and technologies. The work will be performed under the Concepts and Operations for Space and Missile Defense Integration Capabilities (COSMIC) contract.

"This award continues a long-standing relationship with the Space and Missile Defense Command," said Tom White, senior director of Mission Support Solutions at BAE Systems. “The support we provide to the Future Warfare Center helps accelerate the development and fielding of Space and Missile Defense capabilities and forces.”

The company has provided engineering and technical services under COSMIC since 2006, including the development and integration of electronic systems for surveillance and reconnaissance missions. The work is performed in Huntsville, Alabama and Colorado Springs, Colorado.
