Delaware Park Implements Expanded Safety Policy

WILMINGTON, Del.--()--The safety of guests and employees remains the highest priority for the Casino at Delaware Park and a subject of constant review. While Casino officials report Delaware Park still maintains an impressive safety record, they have announced that recent events at popular events in other parts of the country have prompted a proactive revision of one of the Casino’s policies. Specifically, Delaware Park has expanded its list of prohibited items.

Effective Saturday, May 18, the following are not permitted on any part of Delaware Park property, including the Casino, Poker Room and Racing areas (Clubhouse and Grove):

  • Outside alcoholic beverages
  • Glass containers
  • Grills of ANY kind
  • Firearms/knives/other weapons
  • Pepper spray/mace canisters
  • Backpacks
  • Ice
  • Coolers
  • Thermoses
  • Fireworks
  • Noisemakers/air horns
  • Laser lights/pointers

“We’re proud of the effectiveness of our safety policies and procedures and the talented and dedicated personnel who maintain them, but unfortunately this is an area in which we simply cannot rest,” said Delaware Park President Bill Fasy. “Like many other venues, we are adapting as recent events require and putting into effect additional steps to ensure our guests enjoy a worry-free, safe experience at Delaware Park.”
