Mintz Levin Attorney Alden J. Bianchi to Testify Before IRS on Behalf of ERISA Industry Committee

BOSTON--()--Alden J. Bianchi, Practice Group Leader of the Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Practice of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., will testify on behalf of the ERISA Industry Committee (ERIC) before a joint IRS/Treasury Department hearing on proposed regulations under the Affordable Care Act’s employer shared responsibility rules. The hearing will take place on Tuesday, April 23rd.

ERIC is a non-profit association committed to the advancement of the employee retirement, health care coverage, and welfare benefit plans of America's major employers. ERIC supports legislative, regulatory, judicial, and other national policy in its members' interest. ERIC’s members sponsor some of the largest private group health plans in the country. Its members and staff are committed to actively advocating the interests of major employers before Congress, regulatory agencies and the courts, as well as educating public officials about the objectives, design and administration of employee benefit plans.

Mr. Bianchi advises corporate, not-for-profit, governmental, and individual clients on a broad range of executive compensation and employee benefits issues, including qualified and nonqualified retirement plans, stock and stock-based compensation arrangements, ERISA fiduciary and prohibited transaction issues, benefit-related aspects of mergers and acquisitions, and health and welfare plans. Mr. Bianchi represented the Romney administration in connection with the historic 2006 Massachusetts health care reform act, and he has testified before the Senate Finance Committee on the subject of health care reform. He is a member of the BNA Pension & Benefit Publications Advisory Board, a resource to one of the nation’s premier tax and legal publishers, Tax Management, Inc./Bureau of National Affairs.
