Kiewit Being Recognized as a Great Place to Work®

VANCOUVER, British Columbia--()--Today, for the third year in a row, Kiewit, one of North America’s largest and most respected construction and mining organizations, is being recognized as one of this year’s Best Workplaces in Canada. This list, and related stories, appeared in a special national report released this morning. The company learned of its inclusion on the list at the Great Place to Work Conference’s Awards Ceremony on April 9.

For nearly 130 years, Kiewit has promoted strong leadership, pride and quality in all that we do. This translates into an unparalleled commitment to programs advancing employee development and well-being. This commitment is key to how we serve our clients and is just part of the reason Kiewit made this year’s list of “Best Workplaces in Canada.”

“Our people differentiate who we are, and are the fundamental reason we continue to receive recognition as one of the best places to work,” said Michael Geary, vice president of Human Resources of parent company, Kiewit Corporation. “This recognition speaks volumes of our culture and the type of workplace Kiewit continues to build and foster. Our employees are proud to be a part of making the communities in which we live and work better.”

Just as last year, two-thirds of the selection process was based on an employee survey, which makes this recognition especially rewarding for Kiewit and its employees.

This list of “Best Workplaces in Canada” is compiled by Great Place to Work® Institute Canada, a global research and management consultancy with expertise on workplace transformation. The list provides insight relative to the five trust-building dimensions of a great place to work®: credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie.

This year’s list received more than 300 nominations and more than 57,000 employees participated in the 2013 “Best Workplaces in Canada” survey.
