PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Pica8 Inc., the leader in open networking for software defined networks (SDN), today announced that Pica8 has partnered with NCLC and NTT Data to offer system integration services for end-to-end SDN solutions. The offering combines Pica8’s implementation of Open vSwitch (OVS) in its switching operating system with NTT Data’s SDN Framework to create end-to-end solutions that make the network dynamic and programmable under software control.
NTT Data’s Framework has two capabilities. First, as a platform supporting SDN applications, such as network virtualization. And second, to support an OpenFlow Controller Framework for SDN application developers, leveraging a Java-based API.
The partnership will provide planning, design, and development of SDN applications along with system integration services. NTT Data has experience with some of Japan’s largest data centers in implementing this SDN Framework for commercial use.
“By developing an application that provides SDN network traffic control and other services, we enable customers to implement SDN quickly and reliably,” said Steve Garrison, vice president of product marketing at Pica8. “Customers can use white box networking products to build out a highly dynamic and programmable network with our solutions.”
NCLC will provide a comprehensive solution for the Japanese market as follows:
- System integration for building an SDN network
- Pica8 open switch sales
- Implementation consulting and training for SDN solutions
- Sales of various SDN applications
