LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--PaeDae, a leader in marketing, monetization and engagement solutions for online and mobile applications, is blasting some creativity into the search for its next stellar software developer. The chosen applicant will not only receive a cash signing bonus and charitable donation made in his or her name to Code.org, a non-profit foundation dedicated to growing computer programming education, but will also have the chance to go where few men or women have gone before… space. Qualified candidates can find details and apply for the developer position at www.paedae.com. Top candidates will be chosen to compete in a programming challenge.
“We recognize that the pool of quality candidates is small and it’s hard to attract top talent,” said Rob Emrich, co-founder and CEO of PaeDae, while in attendance at Game Developers Conference 2013. “So we thought ‘what is the coolest thing we could possibly offer to our next hire’ and low level orbit sounded pretty effing cool. Hopefully this fun contest brings to light the dire state of science and technology education in the U.S. and serves as a call to action to bring more people into these important disciplines."
Once hired, the selected applicant will receive an immediate $5,000 signing bonus. After a three-month probationary period, they will be eligible for the Space Flight Challenge, which will involve a hand of single-deck blackjack. The new employee will be dealt two random cards. If he or she hits blackjack, they will win a trip to space or $200,000, which is the current cost of the trip. If not, they still get to keep their job and the $5,000 signing bonus.
