BioFuels Development International, LLC Announces Breaking Ground at Channel Biorefineries and Terminals on March 14, 2013

NEW ORLEANS & HOUSTON--()--BioFuels Development International, LLC (“BDI” or “the Company”) announces that it broke ground at its wholly owned subsidiary, Channel BioRefinery & Terminals, LLC (CB&T), on March 14, 2013 in Houston, TX. This groundbreaking is the “Fast Start” phase of BDI’s re-entry into the Biodiesel market. The Company expects CB&T to start production in June, with full “Fast Start” phase production — at an estimated rate of 35 million gallons per year — in July.

CB&T will utilize various feedstocks, primarily taken out of waste streams. The Company will be a feedstock agnostic, supply train driven operation taking advantage of its location on Greens Bayou which connects to the Houston Ship Channel.

Further, CB&T plans to immediately begin construction to improve its terminal operations to accommodate the growing need for rail to water crude oil transfer. The Company will launch this service for numerous companies in and around the Houston Shipping Channel in the next 60 to 90 days.

“This is an exciting day,” stated Ken Brown, CB&T’s CEO. “Our ‘Fast Start' will get us into the marketplace in just a few months. Right behind this phase, we will complete all the work to make Channel the state-of-the-art biodiesel facility in the world, allowing the Company to fully leverage opportunities for feedstock that is only possible because we are located on the Houston Ship Channel."
