ALEXANDRIA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The recent sequestration bill will result in a 4-day work week and 20% pay cut for some federal employees beginning as early as April 1, 2013. This pledge will give employment opportunities to furloughed employees allowing them to continue working a five-day work week, which for some is essential. According to the Office of Personnel and Management, veterans make up approximately 27.3% of the two million federal employees and of the 800,000 Department of Defense employees facing furloughs, 44% are veterans. Working an extra day or two could equate to a potential $6,000 - $12,000 increase in yearly income.
