AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Multimedia Games Holding Company, Inc. (Nasdaq: MGAM), through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Multimedia Games, Inc. (“Multimedia Games” or “the Company”), a leader in slot tournament systems, announced today the launch of the 2013 National TournEvent® of Champions™, a first-of-its-kind nationwide slot tournament powered by the Company’s award-winning TournEvent® slot tournament system. Kicking off on March 2nd at the Eagle Mountain Casino in Porterville, California, the 2013 National TournEvent of Champions will identify America’s best slot tournament players while visiting 20 states and over 60 participating casinos. Multimedia Games’ National TournEvent of Champions events will also feature the added excitement of the “Money Man® Mobile” branded tour bus as it travels across the country.
Designated winners of each casino’s final qualifying event will receive a five-night trip to Las Vegas (including airfare and accommodations for the winning participant and a guest) to play in the national championship on September 25, 2013, which will be held in conjunction with the annual Global Gaming Expo (G2E®). At the national final, held in Lagasse’s Stadium at The Palazzo, approximately 75 participants will compete for a $100,000 grand prize, bragging rights for their home casino, and the title of Nation’s Best Slot Tournament Player.
Patrick Ramsey, President and Chief Executive Officer of Multimedia Games, commented, “Last year, over 20,000 players in California and Washington helped make their statewide TournEvent of Champions events a resounding success and we are thrilled to bring the energy and excitement to players across the country with the 2013 Nationwide TournEvent of Champions. It is clear that this nationwide slot tournament will create an entirely new experience for players and offer a unique marketing opportunity for participating casinos, and we invite those casinos who are not yet part of the event, but are interested in bringing this excitement to their gaming floor, to sign up. The team at Multimedia Games has delivered a turnkey solution that harnesses the power of our TournEvent system to generate instant floor-wide buzz and, over the course of each tournament, we are confident that this buzz will help drive higher floor traffic and increased floor-wide revenue performance at our customers’ facilities.”
The National TournEvent of Champions bus and traveling entourage will be traveling nationwide for nearly six months, visiting more than 60 casinos in six regions. Players can look for casino qualifying events in their region during the following periods:

Linda Trinh, Marketing and Promotions Manager for Multimedia Games, who will be leading the National TournEvent of Champions entourage across the country, said, “I’m excited to spend the next seven months bringing the best of slot tournament entertainment to casinos across the country. Having witnessed the player enthusiasm and ‘holiday-weekend’ energy and play levels created by our California and Washington events last year, I can’t wait to see what a national tournament brings to our customers’ facilities. The stakes are higher, the excitement is sure to reach new levels, and our tour bus and Money Man are ready to bring TournEvent of Champions buzz to our customers and their players.”
