PROVO, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Vivint™, the largest home automation services company in North America, today announced the appointment of Todd Santiago to chief sales officer. Santiago will lead all sales efforts at Vivint, including the direct-to-home division, national inside sales, and channel partners.
Before joining Vivint, Santiago was president of 2GIG Technologies. While at 2Gig, he built the company’s security and home automation platform into an industry leader. He also developed a network of more than 2,000 dealers throughout North America, including Vivint. Since it began shipping products in 2009, 2GIG has sold more than 800,000 of its Go!Control panels, and Santiago’s leadership was instrumental in the company’s acquisitions by Blackstone and, most recently, Nortek for $135 million.
After nine years as an owner, senior vice president and chief recruiting officer, Shawn Brenchley will be retiring from the company. Under Brenchley’s sales management, Vivint expanded its direct-to-home program to all 50 U.S. states and Canada, increased its summer sales force by 700 percent over nearly a decade, and recorded an average of 64 percent growth of installed systems each year. Prior to Vivint, Brenchley was the CEO and president of Safehome Security, one of the first summer door-to-door programs.
“As we welcome Todd on board, we also thank Shawn for his service,” said Alex Dunn, president of Vivint. “Vivint would not occupy its preeminent position in this industry without Shawn’s invaluable contributions in bringing Vivint to homes across North America. Todd’s expertise in this space in second to none, and our entire organization will greatly benefit from his leadership.”
“Having worked in close contact with Vivint for a number of years, it is exciting to be on the inside of this fast-growing company,” said Santiago. “Beyond enhancing our existing sales efforts, I look forward to expanding Vivint’s smart home and energy solutions into the commercial sector and international markets.”
Santiago is a graduate of Brigham Young University and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
