SNOWSHOE, W. Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Snowshoe Mountain Resort (www.snowshoemtn.com), the #1 ski resort in the Mid-Atlantic region, today announced a four-day music and college party celebration destined to become an annual spring break tradition. The Ballhooter is a long-celebrated term from logging history that preceded Snowshoe’s presence on Cheat Mountain. Ballhooter was the logger who was just a little too wild and was famous for throwing the logs down the Mountain. This March, we’re bringing that wild spirit back onto the Mountain for one extended festival.
Dubbed The Ballhooter, the event features FREE live music nightly on a festival stage in the Snowshoe Village, plus The Ballhooter Beach Party presented by Captain Morgan, live comedy shows, on-snow games, video contests, race and terrain park competitions, and the first-ever Red Bull DJ Battle at Snowshoe.
Music headliners for the three FREE evening concert events include “trip hop” artist MiMOSA, plus indie up-and-comers Good Old War, The Dirty Guv’Nahs, and Boombox. “For 361 days out of the year we pride ourselves on being the most family-focused mountain resort in the region,” says David Dekema, marketing director, Snowshoe Mountain Resort. “But for these four days we concede that college kids on campuses all around our region need a good and affordable sanity break, with the chance to blow off a little steam. For these kids we offer The Ballhooter.”
Snowshoe is offering a college spring break VIP package priced as low as $349 per person which includes 3 nights of lodging, a 3-day lift ticket, meals and entrance to ticketed and VIP Ballhooter events, plus Ballhooter competitions. VIP Packages are available while supplies last. Discounted lodging and lift tickets may also be booked separately in advance at www.snowshoemtn.com or by calling Snowshoe Reservations at 877-441-4386.
