LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ArcLight Cinemas continues its nation-wide expansion, announcing the opening of a new location in Chicago’s New City development. Located in Lincoln Park, New City will feature more than 600,000 square-feet of shopping, dining, residential and entertainment. The 14-screen theater will serve as an integral component of the New City project. Construction on the theater will begin soon with the grand opening set for late summer of 2014.
For more than 10 years, ArcLight Cinemas has redefined the movie-going experience for California residents, by presenting films the way filmmakers intended them to be seen. The 14-screen theatre in Chicago will feature ArcLight’s signature amenities that movie-lovers have enjoyed, including “black box” auditoriums, reserved seating, a commercial-free environment, extra-wide stadium seats and unique programming.
The opening of ArcLight Chicago at New City is part of the theatre’s plans to expand its state-of-the-art technology and amenities to moviegoers everywhere. ArcLight Chicago marks ArcLight’s second theatre outside California and its first in the Midwest. Last year, ArcLight Cinemas announced plans to open a new location in Bethesda, Md.
