In the last few years, and especially in 2012, the company underwent a major transformation in its business and its market strategy, converting itself from a general software services company into an enterprise dedicated to providing professional video compression products. In addition, the company has expanded beyond software technology, building a strong team of FPGA IP core developers that also focus on video compression products. That transformation is now complete with an expanded engineering team.

With nearly 50 employees and 17 years of product experience, Vanguard Video delivers leading video compression technology to support existing standards such as H.264/MPEG-4 AVC and the next generation international standard, HEVC. Vanguard Video has been an active member of the ANSI technical committee advising on HEVC, and it is expected to be ratified as International Standard H.265/MPEG-H in the first quarter of 2013 and will be the dominant video compression technology deployed for the next decade.
