ATLANTA--()--Today Philips announced the launch of the new AEA7100, an app-enabled wireless microphone and Bluetooth® speaker that works seamlessly with the StarMaker Karaoke + Auto-Tune App for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, allowing consumers to perform the popular hits from their favorite artists at home.

“At Philips we are always looking for new opportunities to excite consumers and deliver great new products,” said Kenne Chu, senior vice president of Audio and Video Entertainment at Philips. "The AEA7100, along with the StarMaker App, delivers a unique and high-quality karaoke experience that both karaoke enthusiasts and novices will love, from their own home."

Simply dock your iPad with 30-pin connector to the powerful speaker and connect the wireless microphone to the speaker. With the virtual stage in place, music lovers can then open the StarMaker App to sing and record their own versions of the most popular hits from their favorite artists. The app comes with an extensive song list ranging from the biggest radio hits to classic favorites, ensuring there is something to suit everyone. Consumers select a song and the system awards points based on their performance. Scoring higher points unlocks more songs and features within the game. The StarMaker game records the user’s rock star performances, which can be shared online.

Users also have the ability to challenge their friends in a battle round where both contestants sing the same song simultaneously and the app selects a winner based on pitch and timing

“Along with Phillips, we have created a fantastic way for everyone to feel like a superstar from their very own living room,” said Nathan Sedlander, president and co-founder of StarMaker. “Our users love the StarMaker singing game experience, but with the Philips wireless microphone and Bluetooth speaker, StarMaker transforms the living rooms into a big stage music venue. We share our users’ passion for music and singing, and this partnership with Philips is something we are very excited about.”

The AEA7100 has a suggested retail of $179.99 and is available at select retailers, including Apple Stores and online at Apple.com. Philips is also offering the AEA3100, offering a wireless microphone and a Bluetooth receiver for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, available in March with a suggested retail of $99.99.

The StarMaker Karaoke & Auto-Tune App is available for free from the App Store on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch or at www.itunes.com/appstore.
