Clarifire Makes BRIGHTER AUTOMATION® Part of Its Green Initiatives

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.--()--Clarifire, the St. Petersburg-based maker of the process automation technology suite of CLARIFIRE® products and features, announced today its installation of a solar-powered sign that is said to be the largest in Florida, if not the United States. Known for implementing software that makes businesses more efficient and its trademarked tagline BRIGHTER AUTOMATION, the Clarifire team has put its money where its mouth is in also reducing its carbon footprint.

“We decided that being efficient means more than automating our processes and those of our customers,” CEO Jane Mason explained. “So we were determined, when we moved into our new offices, to make the efficiencies of 'going green' a real part of our business culture.”

The 7’ high 14’ wide PVI Solar sign includes a guaranteed sustainability protocol to operate perpetually for a minimum of 5 days with only one day of sunshine, starting from a fully charged battery. Inside its new offices, Clarifire replaced 1500 T12 bulbs with 988 T8 bulbs meaning less phosphor and mercury vapor are used, less energy is consumed, yet the same amount of light is produced. Even the HVAC system has been customized to reduce energy consumption and costs. Using its CLARIFIRE technology to run its own business allows it to be virtually paperless. “Going green means more to us than ordering supplies that are made from recycled content and biodegradable or compostable materials – though we do that too,” Mason added. In ordering the solar signage, “we wanted to also harness the sun when announcing where we are.”
