LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nuix, a worldwide provider of investigative and information management technologies, is pleased to announce that the EU Directorate General (DG) for Competition has selected Nuix technology for its inspections at corporate premises. DG Competition chose Nuix for its ability to provide in-depth investigations across huge unstructured data sets in very short timeframes using a small hardware footprint.
DG Competition investigates companies that may have breached competition rules through cartels or other anti-competitive practices. It also examines proposed corporate mergers that may significantly reduce competition. These investigations can involve analyzing corporate data onsite during surprise or announced inspections and at DG Competition’s headquarters in Brussels.
DG Competition’s requirements for investigation software set demanding benchmarks for scale, speed, scope, ease of use and forensic accuracy. Nuix’s enterprise-grade investigation technology fulfilled these requirements and will now be used during DG Competition’s inspections.
“The EU Directorate General for Competition and regulatory agencies worldwide have recognized Nuix as the only technology that can process huge volumes of data within the time frames and at the depth they need,” said Eddie Sheehy, CEO of Nuix. “Many organizations are using Nuix to proactively investigate their operations to ensure they comply with regulations – preferably before the regulators arrive at the door.”
DG Competition joins a growing list of regulators worldwide that rely on Nuix for investigating and cross-referencing multiple-terabyte cases of digital evidence, including the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, Japan’s Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission, the United Kingdom Financial Services Authority and the United States Securities and Exchange Commission.
