Columbia Green Talks Green Partnerships at Greenbuild Expo

We Build Green Cities Project Serves as Blueprint for Cities Worldwide

Greenbuild 2012

PORTLAND, Ore.--()--Columbia Green Technologies (CGT), eco-technology provider for green roof systems, will be sharing best practice ideas about green public private partnerships (PPP) at the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo on Nov. 14-15. The world’s largest green building expo brings together 35,000 industry leaders, experts and frontline professionals dedicated to sustainable building. During the We Build Green Cities panel on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Moscone Center; Room 114 (North entrance) at 9 A.M. PST CGT’s CEO, Vanessa Keitges, will discuss how Portland’s PPP model can serve as a blueprint to build green cities.

Columbia Green was selected as one of the We Build Green Cities companies, a project of the Portland Sustainability Institute in partnership with Business Oregon, the City of Portland and the Portland Development Commission. The goal of We Build Green Cities is to better connect Portland's green innovations, intellectual capital and products with the rest of the world.

“We are excited to be at Greenbuild with our partners and other organizations that all share the same vision: developing sustainable cities and creating healthy living environments,” said Vanessa Keitges, CEO, Columbia Green Technologies. “This expo is a great place to discuss ideas and tackle global issues of sustainability, including managing the quality and quantity of stormwater, energy use, and air and water pollution. We Build Green Cities is a great model that shows how public private partnerships can address these issues and help grow a local economy.”

Amidst growing demand from public and private sectors, multidisciplinary professionals - from architects to environmental engineers, city planners to landscape architects and beyond - are redefining sustainability in the context of building design. Green roofs are fast becoming green staples of sustainability in mainstream architecture and high performance building.

Green roofs are complex systems; they require quality products from the underlying roof structure through the plant material. Being the most comprehensive vegetative roof system on the market, AVRS® Tray and Multilayer Systems incorporate the highest quality underlying waterproofing, which is why Columbia Green offers single source warranties through their national membrane and waterproofing partners.
