KANSAS CITY, Mo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AMC Theatres® is excited to announce its eleventh location in the Metroplex as it partners with Lincoln Property Company and the Retail Connection to join the exciting redevelopment at Village on the Parkway. AMC’s Village on the Parkway 9 will feature exceptional sight and sound in each auditorium, expanded food and beverage offerings, and upgraded seating.
“AMC has a strong affinity for Addison and the larger trade area, given our presence at AMC Valley View 15, where guests are already enjoying the AMC experience,” said Mark McDonald, executive vice president of Development at AMC. “AMC Village on the Parkway is an opportunity for guests to get the same great AMC service, but with a brand new theatre concept that will keep them coming back, again and again.”
Guests will enjoy an expanded range of concession offerings through a prototype called The Marketplace, which takes concession offerings and convenience to a new level. Instead of waiting in long lines to place an order, concessions are laid out in convenient stations, allowing guests to choose what they want before proceeding to the checkout area. In addition, every seat in the theatre will be a comfortable leather recliner.
Additional theatre amenities may include a MacGuffins bar, allowing guests to order a beer, wine or cocktail at the theatre. Named after a term coined by famed filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock, MacGuffins features a variety of beer, wine and cocktails, including frozen and specialty drinks. Guests at least 21 years old may meet before the show or gather after the movie to recap what they saw while enjoying a drink. Guests can also order their drink at the bar area and bring it into their auditorium to enjoy as they watch their films.
“With Whole Foods under construction and opening the north zone in 2013 and AMC anchoring and opening the south zone in 2014, Village on the Parkway’s development plan continues to come together as projected,” said Robert Dozier, executive vice president of Lincoln Property Company.
"AMC’s theater is going to be a terrific addition to the center, further enriching the special shopping and entertainment experience that Village is going to deliver,” said Steve Lieberman, CEO of the Retail Connection.
Construction is slated to begin in the spring of 2013, and the theatre is expected to open in 2014.
