HGTV to Take Over Mall of America Rotunda with a Modern Day, Life-Size “Holiday House”

Shoppers Invited to Participate in Daily Activities, Weekend Demonstrations with Popular Network Talent and Visits to Special HGTV HOME Pop-Up Showroom

NEW YORK--()--HGTV will celebrate the holidays with the “HGTV® Holiday House,” a modern day, life-size gingerbread house at Mall of America®, the nation’s largest retail and entertainment complex, in Bloomington, Minn. For more than five weeks, from “Black Friday,” Nov. 23, 2012, through New Year’s Day, Jan. 1, 2013, the HGTV Holiday House, located in the Mall’s Rotunda, will offer shoppers an opportunity to attend free demonstrations, meet and greets, and autograph sessions featuring popular network talent, including David Bromstad (HGTV Design Star), Anthony Carrino and John Colaneri (Kitchen Cousins), Genevieve Gorder (HGTV Design Star), Chris Lambton (Going Yard), Scott McGillivray (Income Property), Chuck Nice (Home Strange Home), Carter Oosterhouse (Million Dollar Rooms), Jonathan Scott and Drew Scott (Property Brothers), Egypt Sherrod (Property Virgins), Sabrina Soto (The High Low Project) and Vern Yip (HGTV Design Star). DIY Network® stars Nicole Curtis (Rehab Addict), Matt Muenster (Bath Crashers) and Amy Matthews (Sweat Equity), along with Sara Peterson, editor-in-chief, HGTV Magazine, also will appear.

During the festivities, fans can join in House Hunters Bingo every Monday night from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. CT, take their kids to HGTV-friendly activities like crafts and coloring on Toddler Tuesdays®, and play in a cornhole match each evening from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. CT on “Mensday” Wednesdays. Shoppers can also enter various sweepstakes for chances to win cash or gift cards, get their gifts wrapped at a special station in return for a donation to HGTV and DIY Network’s philanthropic partner, Rebuilding Together, or catch a spectacular holiday light show at 1 p.m., 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. CT daily. In addition, visitors can grab photos in HGTV’s custom holiday photo experience and pose in front of the HGTV Holiday House or a 44 ft. tall Christmas tree.

For the first time, the HGTV® HOME line, which includes the HGTV HOME Furniture Collection, HGTV HOME Design Studio at Bassett, HGTV HOME Lighting by ELK Lighting, HGTV HOME Flooring by Shaw, HGTV HOME by Sherwin-Williams and HGTV HOME Plant Collection curated by Agricola Management, will be on display for the public at a special HGTV HOME Pop-Up Showroom, a 2,000 sq. ft. store located on level 1, south at Mall of America. Opening on Black Friday, the pop-up showroom will highlight the breadth and diversity of products in the HGTV HOME collection -- from paint, flooring and furniture to lighting, accessories and plants.

Shoppers also may visit the HGTV Holiday House and the HGTV HOME Pop-Up Showroom to rest and catch episodes of HGTV’s popular shows, such as Love it or List It, Property Brothers, Home Strange Home and a special live viewing of the Rose Parade on New Year’s Day.

The HGTV Holiday House and HGTV HOME Pop-Up Showroom at Mall of America will be open to the public every day from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. CT (Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT).
