CircuLite® Announces Two Presentations at Annual Meeting of the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery

SADDLE BROOK, N.J.--()--CircuLite®, Inc. today announced the SYNERGY® Circulatory Support System will be included in two presentations at the 26th Annual Meeting of the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS), which is being held October 27-31, 2012 in Barcelona, Spain. CircuLite recently announced CE Marking approval for the SYNERGY® System, which is a micro-pump designed to halt the progression of heart failure and to improve symptoms and exercise tolerance. • Filip Rega, M.D., Ph.D., Associate Professor and Assistant Head of Clinic at the Department of Surgery, University Hospital (Leuven, Belgium), will present “Clinical Experience With the Current CircuLite® SYNERGY® System in Chronic Ambulatory Heart Failure” during the ‘Extracorporeal life support’ scientific session on Tuesday, October 30 at 10:15 a.m. CET.

Additionally, CircuLite will be an exhibitor at EATCS. Representatives will be available at booth 4 in the exhibition hall.

About the SYNERGY® Circulatory Support System

The SYNERGY Circulatory Support System is a micro-blood pump that provides up to 4.25 liters of blood per minute and reduces the heart's workload, while improving blood flow to vital organs. The system is surgically implanted using a mini-thoracotomy and is placed in a pacemaker-like pocket. In a clinical study, SYNERGY improved hemodynamics, exercise capacity, and overall quality of life. SYNERGY is designed and manufactured in Aachen, Germany.
