MONTREAL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Radio IP Software Inc., a leading developer of advanced Mobile Virtual Private Network (MVPN) software solutions, announced today its membership in the Critical Communications Broadband Group (CCBG), a key working group within the Tetra and Critical Communications Association (TCCA) focused on the development and promotion of wireless critical communications worldwide. As a member of the CCBG, Radio IP will play a leading role in contributing to the LTE functionality specifications in the next release of the 3GPP standard, which has a direct impact on public safety broadband networks worldwide.
Radio IP has also recently joined the Canadian National Public Safety Broadband Network group dedicated to the establishment of the 700 MHz spectrum across Canada for public safety broadband communications. Furthermore, Radio IP is actively participating in Textron Systems’ War Games project, an effort that brings together a diverse group of government, industry, telecommunications and first responder representatives to determine the full range of requirements integral to the successful deployment of the US Department of Commerce’s First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) wireless broadband network across the United States. Both initatives are focused on integrating new LTE wireless network technologies to improve situational awareness and field safety for first responders and hope to establish compatible cross border national networks.
From instant access to confidential background information on suspects, to real-time streaming of video from patrol vehicles, and everything in between, Radio IP has remained focused on supporting the real-world network communication requirements of public safety agencies for close to 15 years.
“We have long been a staunch supporter of various industry associations that further the technological advancement of wireless communications,” said Frank Draper, VP Sales and Marketing at Radio IP. “Our diverse worldwide memberships demonstrate our unwavering commitment to helping mission-critical agencies across the globe profitably integrate technology and capitalize on the performance and cost benefits of mobile networking.“
In addition to public 3G and 4G cellular infrastructures, Radio IP’s mobile VPN solutions leverage critical private data, P25, IV&D, Opensky, TETRA, satellite and many other networks to provide secure, uninterrupted communications. Whether it’s a police officer in the field or a government teleworker, Radio IP’s mobile VPN solutions ensure all users have fully-secured access to critical data and applications in real-time.
