NEWTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Government Properties Income Trust (NYSE: GOV) today announced that it commenced a public offering of 7,000,000 common shares. GOV expects to use the net proceeds of this offering to repay amounts outstanding under its revolving credit facility and for general business purposes, including funding potential acquisitions. It is contemplated that the underwriters will also be granted a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 1,050,000 common shares.
