SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Jenkins Community, the community of developers using the Jenkins CI open source continuous integration (CI) server, today announced that over the past year active installations on the Jenkins platform have increased from 25,000 to more than 40,000 installations. The number of new plugins developed has also reached an average of one per day. To continue supporting this growth, The Jenkins Community will host its Second Annual Jenkins User Conference (JUC) on Sunday, September 30, 2012, at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco, just prior to the start of JavaOne 2012.
The growth and the vibrancy of the Jenkins community underscores the value development teams are getting from Jenkins in their development processes. Jenkins CI is the leading open source CI server and provides more than 500 plugins to support building and testing virtually any Java-based project. The Jenkins User Conference is dedicated to expanding the skill sets of Jenkins developers to support the ongoing explosive growth of the Jenkins platform.
“The Jenkins Community has achieved a lot of milestones over this past year, including a growth rate of about 60 percent in active installations,” said Andrew Bayer, member of the Jenkins Governing Board. “Based on the success of our inaugural user conference last year, the Jenkins Governing Board was very enthusiastic about holding another Jenkins user event preceding JavaOne this year.
