DynCorp International to Support Final Flight of NASA Space Shuttle Endeavour

FALLS CHURCH, Va.--()--DynCorp International today announced it will be providing aircraft maintenance support to NASA’s Shuttle Carrier Aircraft (SCA) for space shuttle Endeavour’s final flight, taking place September 18-20, 2012. The SCA, a uniquely configured Boeing 747-100 aircraft, will transport Endeavour from Kennedy Space Center in Orlando, Fla. to its final home, the California Science Center in Los Angeles, Calif.

DI will provide the maintenance team, that in cooperation with NASA and other support contractors, will travel with the aircraft for the duration of the flight which will include stops in Houston, Texas and El Paso, Texas. DI mechanics will carefully inspect, service, and perform any necessary maintenance to the SCA.

DynCorp International was awarded a contract with NASA to provide aircraft maintenance and operational support services at various locations in April 2012.
