CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aetna (NYSE: AET) and Novant Health announced that they have reached agreement on a multi-year contract that ensures Novant’s continued participation in the Aetna network. Physicians and facilities affiliated with Novant Health will continue their participation without interruption.
Under the new agreement, Aetna and Novant have created a new value-based agreement for Novant’s certified Patient Centered Medical Homes (PCMH). Novant’s PCMH-certified practices will receive a care-management fee for providing a coordinated care approach for their attributed members. Additional compensation will be tied to meeting certain targets for improved quality and cost efficiency.
