MediaInternet Selects Octoshape Infinite HD-M to Power South American Broadband TV Market

Partnership allows broadcasters the same economics and scale as traditional TV for high quality Internet video delivery

ATLANTA--()--Octoshape and MediaInternet announced today that they have forged a partnership to power broadband TV video distribution services for South American media broadcasters and Internet service providers.

Respected as a premier provider of SaaS web business and web media in South America, MediaInternet is dedicated to improving transactions between agencies and print, broadcast, out-of-home and web media. The collaboration between both parties opens another market for Octoshape and enables MediaInternet to offer an even broader range of services to its customer base.

"The expansion of broadband connectivity in the countries of the Southern Cone, namely Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina, is enabling broadcasters to expand into new markets," said Charlie Deane, CEO, MediaInternet S.A. "Octoshape is helping us accelerate this expansion with its Infinite HD-M platform, which allows us to help broadcasters deliver premium content in high quality to worldwide audiences in multiple devices, broadcast headends and operators, over the Internet."

This partnership will help MediaInternet enable broadcasters to deliver premium content to viewers via IP connections rather than traditional satellite or cable. The video distribution for MediaInternet’s OTT service will be provided to South American consumers via the Octoshape Infinite HD-M Federated Multicast Broadband TV platform.

Infinite HD-M enables the quality, scale and economics of traditional broadcast TV over the Internet. Telco and cable operators that are part of the Infinite HD-M Federated network receive the signals via native IP Multicast in a way that allows them to easily manage large volumes of traffic without upgrading their Internet capacity.

"Our goal is to provide the highest quality viewing experiences on the Internet," said Michael Koehn Milland, CEO of Octoshape. “Our Infinite HD-M platform allows partners like MediaInternet to extend these high quality viewing experiences for consumers to all viewing devices on the Internet.”

About MediaInternet

MediaInternet was founded by Charlie Deane, a veteran of the media space. The company's leitmotiv is bringing together best-of-class media technology products-as-a-service. Its core expertise is identifying disruptive media delivery software and hardware, understanding how they fit together in the complex media streaming and download-to-own ecosystem, integrating those solutions and hand-holding the customers thru the process of implementing self-sustainable and reliable business models in a short span of time. These loosely coupled software-as-a-service and products philosophy is a must in Latin America, where customers look to do the whole or just parts, given the availability of in-house solutions, adoption of open source technologies, and other parts of the business equation.
