DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Gibson Athletic, the Colorado athletic equipment manufacturer respected throughout the world for its gymnastics and ballet equipment, today announced its triple digit growth in its functional fitness brand, RAGE Fitness Supply®, and a partnership with Dick’s Sporting Goods.
Watching Rage’s success from the sidelines, Dick’s Sporting Goods approached Rage to become the lead brand in their cross fitness equipment space. Starting in September, Rage’s famous medicine balls, wood rings, climbing ropes and other unique products will be available in numerous stores and on-line throughout the country.
“As the economy was beginning its downward turn in 2008, we had been closely following the emergence of functional fitness trends and decided to take some rather large financial risks to invest in the newly launched RAGE brand,” said Brian Smith, President, Gibson Athletic. “One of our biggest investments was to add more local staff and grow from just 20 employees in 2008 to a projected 90 employees by the end of 2012. We are poised for continued growth because response to our high quality, mostly American made fitness products, has been an overnight success.”
Being a US company that manufactures on American soil has become harder to find in the evolving business landscape. Locally, Gibson recently received a 2012 Colorado Companies to Watch award developed by the Edward Lowe Foundation, which recognizes 50 second-stage companies who are making an impact in the local economy. Gibson proudly expects more hires to accommodate growth for Rage and Gibson’s gymnastics products, as the company traditionally sees a surge in sales during an Olympic year.
