EXTON, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ThingWorx™ announced today that Dirt Road Data, a highly specialized supplier of distributed automation systems for the energy, agriculture, and water management markets, has selected ThingWorx to power its Verif-Eye™ line of agricultural monitoring and control products. This partnership allows Dirt Road Data to accelerate its time to market for delivering the first remote command and control solution for farm operations, providing smarter flock management and improved production and financial results for the confined animal rearing industry.
Dirt Road Data’s Verif-Eye product line utilizes the ThingWorx technology platform to power its cloud-based solution for smart poultry farming, providing an end-to-end application to wirelessly collect, store, and visualize critical poultry operational data, including bird counts, egg metrics, and feed usage. This enables farmers to analyze real-time metrics, helping them drive smarter decisions in farm management and production.
“We are pleased to be working with ThingWorx to deliver the first-of-its-kind application for smart agriculture,” stated Daniel Goss, President of Dirt Road Data. “Poultry farmers are concerned about protecting their flock and managing their performance. Our solution, powered by ThingWorx, provides these farmers with a comprehensive online dashboard of their farms, giving them the ability to analyze data and key performance indicators from flock to flock, and allowing them to readily spot trends and act on the information to increase their feed conversion rates, and productivity.”
The Verif-Eye solution replaces what was previously a manual and time-consuming process for capturing and reporting critical farming data. Analyzing data from flock to flock allows farmers to readily identify trends, respond to alert conditions when their operation is out of specification, and act on the information to increase feed conversion rates and productivity. Verif-Eye utilizes ThingWorx’s execution and storage engine to retrieve and correlate external data into the system, including live weather data as well as real-time temperature, humidity, and pressure data from farming sites.
“Dirt Road Data’s selection of ThingWorx is another example of a vertical solution provider that is leveraging the opportunities inherent in the connected world to deliver innovative applications that make the world a more efficient and sustainable place,” stated Russ Fadel, CEO of ThingWorx. “Our connected application platform has allowed Dirt Road Data to accelerate its time-to-market for the Verif-Eye solution. The ThingWorx storage and execution environment, along with our unique collaborative infrastructure and search-based intelligence is providing an effective platform for managing and analyzing real-time agricultural data.”
The Verif-Eye application will be available both as a web application as well as a mobile version available on a ruggedized tablet. This will provide flexibility and reliable data command and control in difficult to reach places.
