SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Comcast SportsNet, the home of “Authentic Bay Area Sports,” today announced that Palo Alto native Dave Feldman (@FeldyCSN), an ESPN veteran, five-time Emmy Award winner – including three for Best Sportscaster – and the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association’s 2011 Washington DC Sportscaster of the Year, has joined the network and will serve as an anchor/reporter for its San Francisco 49ers programming, SportsNet Central, MLB, NBA and NHL pre- and post-game shows, and other studio shows. The announcement was made by Ted Griggs, Vice President and General Manager, Comcast SportsNet Bay Area.

He has deep local roots and has established himself as one of the most accomplished and versatile sportscasters in the business today. A graduate of Palo Alto High School (1983), Feldman was a teammate of San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh on the school’s basketball team. Before going into television, Feldman was an assistant men’s basketball coach at Stanford University (1985-86), where he worked with head coach Tom Davis and assistant coaches Bruce Pearl and Kermit Washington.
Feldman journeys back to Northern California after spending the last 12 years (2000-2012) at WTTG-TV (FOX) in Washington, DC as an award-winning sports director and anchor/reporter. He also announced college basketball games for Mid-Atlantic Sports Network. Prior to his tenure in DC, he worked at ESPN for four years (1996-2000) and was the primary host of College Hoops 2Night on ESPN2. Feldman subsequently filled numerous roles for the network, serving as host of SportsCenter and ESPNews, and handling play-by-play duties for college basketball.
Before ESPN, Feldman was an anchor/reporter at Orange County News Channel in Santa Ana, California (1991-96), KMST-TV in Monterey, California (1989-90) and KTIV-TV (NBC) in Sioux City, Iowa (1988-89). He began his broadcasting career at KCBS 740 radio in San Francisco (1987). Feldman earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Tufts University, where he played two years of varsity basketball.
