NORTHWOOD, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--NAMSA, the world’s leading medical device research organization, has acquired The Integra Group, a preclinical and clinical research organization located near Minneapolis.
The medical device research, regulatory approval and commercialization process is continuously taking longer and costing more. Having breadth and depth in consulting, non-clinical and clinical services with experts in cardiovascular, orthopedic, ocular, neurologic, gastroenterologic, urologic, combination product and related medical devices can help manufacturers accelerate these development efforts.
“NAMSA is very pleased to now be able to offer The Integra Group’s imaging lab, biostatistics and physician training services along with our world-class expertise in R&D, biocompatibility and clinical research,” said John Gorski, NAMSA’s President and CEO. “We expect having experts in all of these areas will help clients get their products in the hands of physicians and patients who need them most to help diagnose, treat and even cure diseases around the world.”
“The Integra Group has been able to execute an integrated testing model like this very well and we are excited about being able to now offer this model to our clients,” said Gorski.
For clients undergoing feasibility evaluations for novel medical technologies, particularly in the cardiovascular and orthopedic areas, this acquisition will mean studies now can be completed in days or weeks, not months as in the past. Additionally, adding further consulting, materials characterization, biocompatibility and clinical services is a natural extension for Integra clients in Minneapolis.
“The medical device industry has been waiting for a consolidated service provider with this depth and breadth of expertise. This acquisition brings two complementary, world-class service providers together, giving medical device manufacturers the best of all worlds,” said Chris Pulling, CEO of The Integra Group.
Both Chris Pulling and Dr. Roy Martin, Chief Medical Officer, of the Integra Group, will be part of the new NAMSA – Integra Division in Minneapolis in key executive roles.
