ExamSoft Worldwide Announces Integration with Blackboard Learn Platform

New building block syncs leading embedded assessment and learning analytics solution with top learning management system

DALLAS--()--ExamSoft Worldwide, a technology leader which helps schools more efficiently create and administer embedded assessments, and generate actionable data to measure and improve individual student learning outcomes, today announced the launch of ExamSoft Connect, a new collaboration tool for the Blackboard Learn™ platform.

ExamSoft Connect makes it easier than ever for university faculty or staff who use Blackboard Learn, to create, deliver, score and analyze exams, and then share feedback directly with students. The ExamSoft Connect building block automatically synchronizes key pieces of data between Blackboard and ExamSoft to make daily administration seamless and information access simple.

“The goal of the integration is to give educators a simple, practical way to blueprint effective exams, deliver the exams any way they choose – on Scantron, laptop, or iPad – and then use the exam results to improve student feedback, satisfy program accreditation or even inform curricular design,” said David Schnabel, president of ExamSoft Worldwide.

ExamSoft started out in 1998, doing secure, computer-based testing for high stakes exams, but it has since expanded its service solution substantially, and is now used on hundreds of university campuses for embedded assessments, whether on paper or student-owned computers (in a secure fashion). ExamSoft enables faculty or staff to easily create assessment questions, and categorize those questions in limitless ways, including subject, competency, cognitive process, or learning objective. Faculty can also easily import old exam questions in a wide array of formats including Word, RTF and CSV, and select questions for exams based on prior question performance or blueprint designs.

“Assessment and accreditation solutions are the framework for continued improvement in education,” said Ted Hopper, VP of Business Development at Blackboard. “By giving faculty access to these easy-to-use solutions we encourage progress and individual accountability in the classroom.”

Following exam completion, ExamSoft empowers faculty or staff to access all results online, and with the click of a button, generate user-friendly reports to assess class, individual student, question and exam performance by category. Selected reports may be shared directly with students (with faculty approval) to promote student engagement, remediation and retention. Faculty also use ExamSoft’s reporting for accreditation compliance and curricular review.

ExamSoft Connect is free to ExamSoft and Blackboard Learn clients, with support available to install and maintain it. Join us for a webinar showcasing the ExamSoft Connect building block on Wednesday, July 25th at 2pm ET. To register, visit: http://bit.ly/ExamSoftWebinar.
