LOS ANGELES--()--Sympathy for the Diva (SFD), a free, interactive social App, is launching an Indiegogo campaign for the style and celebrity-focused girl. The campaign will run through July 28th with the goal of raising $400,000. www.indiegogo.com/sympathyforthediva

The impulse behind the Sympathy for the Diva campaign is to eliminate the negative connotation and stereotypes from the “Diva” moniker and instead promote an understanding of “Diva” as an attitude that transcends all cultures and represents creativity, power, success and positive self-expression.

The Sympathy for the Diva App will provide “Divas” from around the world a single online destination/hub to express themselves creatively and be engaged by original animated content. SFD is taking creating an avatar to whole new level by allowing members to create and customize their DIVAself from a wide variety of stylized options—including hairstyles, skin tones and body shapes—to reflect each person’s unique individual character.

SFD will provide it’s own original content for entertainment specifically tailored to members’ interests. Animated Sympathy for the Diva episodes will parody stories taken directly from the daily headlines and blogs. Follow four “Diva” heroines as they navigate through high school, celebrity and fame in an effort to make the right choices.

SFD goes beyond any other App allowing members the ability to purchase the latest clothing and accessories for their own virtual DIVAself AND also REAL life items for themselves from their favorite shops! In addition, the App will offer a variety of activities, such as creating a Diva Style Center (virtual room), complete with wardrobe, that members can decorate to reflect their style.

The App will also come with social interactivity capabilities, allowing members to share their DIVA creations, Diva Style Centers and style tips; frame their friends in new looks; and watch as their wardrobes grow. AND they can share all their images on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook as well as receive credits and badges for choosing and following goals.

The Sympathy for the Diva Campaign was founded by Noël Gordon and brought to life with stunning animation by Don Phillips Jr . Gordon has extensive experience in the fashion industry, working with legends such as Donatella Versace, Marc Jacobs, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington and Francois Nars (NARS cosmetics, for the ladies who know). He also participated in a number of prominent events, including Naomi Campbell’s Versace for South Africa Fashion show for Nelson Mandela’s Children’s Charity, served as the creative director for a NYC modeling agency and launched a magazine with Time, Inc. Don Phillips Jr. is a celebrated animator, active in film, television, video games and advertising. His clients have included Disney, Dreamworks, Adult Swim and Lionsgate, and his stylistically rich, 3D animated short, ‘Passing Moments,” won awards from the Academy of Motion Picture Sciences, the Emmys, and was screened at the Cannes Film Festival.
