RALEIGH, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bandwidth, a fast-growing North Carolina company providing communication technology services to thousands of small businesses across the U.S., is the latest company to move its corporate headquarters to NC State University's Centennial Campus.
The company has signed a four-year sublease in the Venture III building on the research park and technology campus and is expected to move into its new offices by October. The 75,000-square feet of office space is currently occupied by Red Hat, an open-source software company.
"We are delighted to have Bandwidth as a corporate partner," said Dennis Kekas, associate vice chancellor of Centennial Campus Partnerships. "They bring a lot to the table and we know they are going to make an important contribution to our ongoing wireless technology research."
Founded in 1999, Bandwidth operates four divisions -- inetwork, Phonebooth, Broadband and republic wireless. Across the four divisions, Bandwidth provides a full range of communications services, including wholesale voice origination and termination, a full suite of 9-1-1 services, hosted VoIP and Internet connectivity service for small businesses, and a consumer wireless business.
“We’re pumped to move into the Red Hat space in Raleigh,” said David Morken, CEO of Bandwidth. “The new space is a great reflection of our innovative and unique people-centric culture at Bandwidth. We share a lot of similarities with Red Hat – they transformed the software market and we’re transforming communications – powering innovative brands that are changing the way we live, work and play like Google Voice, Skype, Pinger, Vonage, Living Social and our very own republic wireless.”
Bandwidth isn't the only entity doing well. Centennial Campus is on a roll as well.
With the addition of Bandwidth, the 1,227-acre park and campus is currently at capacity. In addition, another privately developed office complex is under construction (the 144,000-square foot Alliance Center), along with the development of a student housing complex and the university's new main library, the 150,000-square-foot James B. Hunt, Jr. library. Both projects will be open in time for the 2013 academic year. Also planned for immediate construction is a privately developed apartment housing complex.
