GlassPoint’s Rod MacGregor to Present at World National Oil Companies Congress

Solar EOR leader to discuss advantages of award-winning enclosed trough technology with global NOC operators

World NOC Congress 2012

LONDON--()--GlassPoint Solar, the global leader in solar enhanced oil recovery (EOR), announces CEO and President Rod MacGregor will be speaking today at the World National Oil Companies (NOC) Congress in London, UK. MacGregor will present a case study on GlassPoint’s solar EOR solution and join other leading oil and gas executives for a panel discussion on how NOCs can maximize oil recovery from unconventional resources.

The 6th annual World NOC Congress convenes leaders of the world’s NOCs and their partners to debate and decide the future of the oil and gas business. In an uncertain and volatile industry, oil operators are increasingly turning to solar EOR solutions to expand production and increase proven reserves in gas or emissions constrained countries.

In the past year alone, GlassPoint has been recognized by several leading oil and gas institutions worldwide for its enclosed trough technology, including Platts’ Commercial Technology of the Year Award, E&P Magazine’s Meritorious Award for Engineering Innovation and, most recently, IHS Energy Daily’s 2012 Most Innovative Technology Award. Designed specifically for rugged oilfield environments, GlassPoint’s solar steam generators can supply up to 80 percent of a project’s annual steam needs, redistributing natural gas to higher value industrial applications. The company has projects in development in California and the Middle East.

About GlassPoint Solar

GlassPoint is the leading provider of solar steam generators to the oil and gas industry. When used for Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR), GlassPoint solar steam generators reduce natural gas consumption by up to 80%, redirecting gas resources to higher value applications such as electricity generation and export. GlassPoint's solar EOR solution delivers steam at a lower cost than steam produced by burning natural gas, enabling producers to economically recover more oil. GlassPoint drives lower costs by enclosing lightweight components within a glasshouse to seal the system from sand, dust, dirt and high humidity typical of oilfield environments throughout the world. The company is headquartered in Fremont, California with offices in Bakersfield, California, Muscat, Oman and Shenzhen, China. For more information, visit glasspoint.com.
