Cisco Live 2012

BURNABY, British Columbia--()--Teradici, the developer of the innovative PC-over-IP® (PCoIP®) protocol that enables a true PC experience for desktop virtualization, announced today that it will be showcasing its latest VDI offerings for Cisco Virtualization Experience Infrastructure (VXI), including Teradici APEX™ 2800 server offload card and PCoIP zero clients, in booth #350 at this year’s Cisco Live event taking place in San Diego from June 10-14.

“With sessions and presentations focused on enhancing the technical skills of the attendees, Cisco Live has proven time and again to be a leading conference that focuses on educating its attendees on today’s leading technologies,” said Trent Punnett, vice president of marketing, product management and systems engineering, Teradici. “At this year’s event, we will have experts on hand to participate in interactive demos showcasing the benefits of implementing PCoIP solutions for end-to-end VDI enhancement.”

Teradici will offer live demonstrations of various PCoIP solutions for Cisco VXI, including:

Teradici APEX 2800 server offload card in a Cisco UCS server with VMware View: Teradici will demonstrate the full benefits of the APEX 2800 card and its recently announced compatibility with VMware View™ 5.1 deployments. Monitoring the activity of all virtual machines on a VDI server, the APEX 2800 dynamically offloads the most active 64 displays, improving the consolidation ratio by up to two times and reducing the cost per virtual desktop. The card also acts as an insurance policy against unexpected image processing loads on the VMware View server CPUs, ensuring a consistent user experience.

Cisco Virtualization Experience clients (VXC) 2111/2211with Imprivata No Click Access™: Teradici will showcase its joint solution with Imprivata, which combines PCoIP zero clients with Imprivata OneSign® Virtual Desktop Access with VMware View, to provide users with fast and secure access to their roaming desktops from any location with a simple tap of their badge. PCoIP zero clients are ultra-secure, easy to manage devices that offer the richest user experience in a VMware View environment. The Cisco VXC endpoints are the industry’s first PCoIP zero clients to be powered over Ethernet (PoE), and the first to be integrated into VoIP phone sets.
