R360 Environmental Solutions Enters North Dakota’s Williston Basin with the Acquisition of Prairie Disposal, Inc.

Strategically located in the heart of the Bakken and Three Forks plays, the facility is well-positioned to serve over 220 drilling rigs currently operating in the basin

HOUSTON--()--R360 Environmental Solutions®, Inc. announced today the acquisition of Prairie Disposal, Inc. making the company’s entry in to North Dakota’s Williston Basin, one of the fastest growing oilfields in the United States. The Williston Basin is home to over 220 active drilling rigs, and North Dakota is now the second largest state in oil production.

“Prairie Disposal is the leading provider of E&P waste management services in the Williston Basin,” said Chief Executive Officer Troy Thacker of R360 Environmental Solutions. “R360 is thrilled to build on such a strong platform and to provide best-practice E&P waste management to our current and future customers in this important hydrocarbon region.”

The PDI facility is equipped with world-class, substantial capacity and an E&P waste disposal facility capable of accepting solid waste and a high-tech fluids processing plant to process E&P liquids such as spent drilling fluids and flow back. The former PDI owner/operators, the Krenz family, will continue to work full-time with R360 as advisors.

“We are excited to become part of the R360 team. It brings the added strength and stability that Prairie Disposal, Inc. was looking for in this growing market,” said Brad Krenz, General Manager, Prairie Disposal, Inc. “R360's safety record and nationwide presence are great assets to our employees and customers."

In addition to the current services provided, R360 plans to bring their proprietary R3 technology to the Williston Basin site to recycle E&P waste cuttings into beneficial RoadBase material. R3 RoadBase™ is an innovative recycled product for road building and repair used by E&P companies and by the Texas Department of Transportation. RoadBase allows operators to convert stockpiled, environmentally treated E&P waste material into quality road base, which would assist in the building of much-needed roads in North Dakota.

“Acquiring PDI represents R360’s first step in our expansion plans for the Williston Basin. Over the next year, we plan to develop a network of facilities throughout the Williston Basin. We hope to announce the construction of several other E&P waste management facilities in the near future,” said Gabriel Rio, Executive Vice President, R360 Environmental Solutions.

During the acquisition, R360 worked closely with the North Dakota Department of Health and the North Dakota Industrial Commission to ensure that there will be no interruption to business at the PDI facility. R360 values the PDI employees, who will be remaining with the company and will be a tremendous addition to the R360 team.
