Filmbay Launches Global Film Industry Online Service

TORONTO--()--Filmbay.com announces the launch of its Internet marketplace, showcase and distribution service for independent feature, motion picture, short films, music videos and documentaries.

Producers, filmmakers, writers, actors, composers, and artists can syndicate their content via an online shop to a world audience, retaining all rights, maximum profit and shared ad revenue.

Advanced premium features include crowd funding, crowdsourcing, rights optioning, book and eBook publishing including direct-to-consumer sales. An internal cross-platform knowledge economy, streamlined to meet customer taste, demands and culture change, is part of the freemium features available.

While Filmfestivals like Cannes, Sundance and Rotterdam, arguably, are no longer independent, and, thus, closed events, Filmbay offers an open alternative, accessible to both established and newcoming content creators. Filmmakers no longer face the challenge of being able to submit their film, and do not have to travel to attend a festival.

Filmbay's founder and President, John Trutnau, and his personal assessment of the current global film marketing process: “I was always hearing the same complaints from filmmakers, actors, writers and other artists of not being able to find true global representation for their work and for themselves.” says John. “The Internet offers a unique way to unite people from all over the world in one media platform and, unlike Facebook, for example, create an open global marketplace, with highly specialized visibility.” It took several years to develop and fine-tune the Filmbay concept and website.

As part of the knowledge base, content creators, also have access to a media school, which provides essential and advanced information on how to plan, conceptualize, fund and budget a project, without having to attend film school, a four-year college course or get a university degree. As fully trademarked enterprise, Filmbay also assists with legal questions regarding copyright, digital rights management and expertise on how not to be taken by unethical business practices, prevalent in today’s media management.

The platform enables digital distribution, mobile streaming, along with collaboration, social media marketing, web film festival and blogging tools.
